What we store

Your email, if you subscribe. We use it only to send you the morning report and, now and then, news about The Swell Show. It’s managed by our email provider (beehiiv).

What you enter in the tools. When you use Your business or Your rate, we store the numbers you enter (for example, your sector and monthly sales, or your nightly rate) without your name, email or IP address. We use them to make the area comparisons more accurate.

Wage and cost survey answers. They’re anonymous and are only published as medians and ranges, once there are at least 5 answers.

Job and space listings. What you write in a listing, including the contact, is published on the site so people can reach you. Listings are deleted automatically after 30 days (jobs) or 60 days (spaces).

What we don’t do

We don’t sell or share your data with anyone for advertising.

We never publish an individual figure: what we show is always aggregated across several businesses.

We don’t use tracking cookies. To know how many people visit, we use cookie-free statistics that don’t identify anyone.

To prevent abuse

So nobody floods the survey, the job board or the tools with fake data, we use a connection code that changes every day and doesn’t reveal who you are.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe whenever you want, with the link at the bottom of every email. If you want us to delete your email or a listing you posted, or have any question about your data, write to [email protected]. We follow Costa Rica’s Law 8968 on the Protection of Individuals regarding the Processing of their Personal Data.
